therapies and Dolphins. |
VICE
CHAIR: Michael Peter Kowal
Been a Lions fan from the mid 70's.
Been on the Committee for a couple of years now and has enjoyed
it very much. I'm a family man and at my happiest surrounded
by my whole family......other interests include winter sports,
as a spectator only, also I'm in to model railways as well
as the real thing........though I'm more into steam than anything
else...which is handy......as is my grandson |

SECRETARY/MEMBERSHIP
SECRETARY Linda Harris
I've followed the Lions since 1977
live with my two dogs and I love to travel and am hoping to
visit New York in 2012. My roles within the supporters club
are Membership secretary, acting club secretary and looking
after the very successful 50/50 match day draws |

I am married to Diane since 2008, we are both retired
and living at Rothley, we both have 2 children and we both
have 3 grandchildren. Diane and I both enjoy helping Linda
Harris to sell the 50/50 tickets at Leicester Speedway. I
was introduced to Speedway at Blackbird Road at Easter 1953
and knew immediately that this was the sport for me and even
though I was in full support of the Leicester Hunters I also
appreciated the efforts of the visiting riders and that is
how I still view the situation to this day, but I think there
are many people in this sport who think the same as I do.
Having said that it is always nice to see our own team doing
well. When in 1968 the Long Eaton team was moved to Leicester
myself and my late wife were invited to be programme sellers
at Blackbird road and I also for a few years was a member
of the track-staff at Brandon stadium. My wish now is for
our new Leicester Speedway to carry on being a big success. |

long term Speedway fan, committee member and volunteer up
at Beaumont Park. You can find me on every match day selling
programmes in my famous shed!! |

My first Speedway meeting was in 1949 when the Hunters opened
up, from that day on I have followed Speedway ever since.
When Leicester closed down I transferred my support to Long
Eaton until their demise. I was one of the petitioners that
helped Ken in the bid to get Speedway back to Leicester which
we achieved in 2011. I joined the committee when it reformed
back in 2000 and have been on it ever since. I help out on
the main gates during the week on race meetings. |

I am a family man with two children, nine year old Daniel
and five year old Erin and not forgetting my good lady wife
Jackie. I have been a fan of speedway for around four years
now, so when Leicester saw the return of the Lions it all
became that more special. My other interests are power boating,
we have a boat we usually use on the south coast and on
the Lochs in Scotland, camping with friends, this more often
than not goes with the boating side of things and lastly
I like radio controlled helicopters, this can sometimes
be a tad difficult as they are notoriously hard to master.
On race nights I am usually around the front of the refs
tower, more often than not with my lad Dan, though we are
all there on occasion.

Dave
Howard
Lions fan since 1972, invited onto LSSC Committee in
1981-1983 by Martin Rogers knocking on my front door at home,
now returning for my 2nd stint. Not bad at keeping to time,
this is good seeing as I am Incident Recorder/Timekeeper on
Race-nights. "I want to help bring fans together in a
positive manner and want to attain a situation where all supporters
have positive thoughts when they think of LSSC and what it
offers and provides for them" |

A speedway fan for 28 years and a start marshal for
one, I am responsible for the recent social events and am
keen to increase the value that members receive from the Supporters
Club. |
Alex
Kowal
I was a year old when Leicester speedway closed down, never
saw Blackbird Road. My Dad got me into speedway when Long
Eaton was riding. Been following them all the way till they
were closed. After Long Eaton I have been supporting King's
Lynn and now Leicester as we got our track back. I'm the youngest
committee member, not just age but as a new member in the
committee. With the experience of designing and running websites
in the past, I was elected to do the Supporters Club Website.
If there's no speedway, I shoot some pool or spend time with
my family and friends. |
